It’s always in style to have big, full eyelashes. There are so many different options to achieve this look with new products like Latisse, lengthening mascaras, or my specialty, eyelash extensions. Most of these products easily feet in to your everyday lifestyles. From products like Latisse and Rapid Lash that you apply to your eyelid, lash extensions, or mascaras by L’Oreal and Revlon that one can apply on the go every day , there is a product for every woman’s lifestyle to have full, luscious lashes.

Latisse will make your eyelashes grow so big and full; I swear almost up your eyebrows. Though Latisse costs more, it requires less work and is perfect for busy women. Latisse is applied only once a day and also has positive reviews from many customers. Very few reported side effects. Though, some subtle side-effects of Latisse are some darkening of the eyelids and darker spots on light-colored eyes.

Rapid Lash doesn’t require a prescription, can be found at drugstores, and is about half the price of Latisse. Rapid Lash makes the lashes more voluminous and conditioned, but the result is not necessarily guaranteed because it is an OTC product. The most commonly reported side effect is itching or slight burning of the lash roots.

Something everyone can do and work into their daily routine is use lengthening mascara. My go-to lengthening mascara is L’Oreal Double Extend. It helps grow healthier and stronger lashes I have seen in case after case. Another one of my favorites is Revlon Grow Luscious by Fabulash in black. It was featured in Glamour and Allure and I noticed results in three weeks. They should be used every day for full results in four weeks.  These mascaras are great for making your eyelashes healthy and full, so they look extra long and thick until your next lash extensions appointment. These products make the lashes healthier as well so they are less likely to fall out and able to support strong lash extensions. What are you doing for bigger, healthy lashes?

Spring In To Color

Yellow eyeshadow? Work it with Robin's tips.

Now that it’s April, it’s time to jump into bright spring colors like shocking pink, lime green, and electric blue. According to spring 2010 fashion trends, these wonderful Easter egg colors are hot on the runway, and will definitely be adorable to wear on sunny spring days.

I love color, and I’m always excited about working colors other than the usual grays and browns into makeup, but when working with color it’s always important to do it right so you won’t end up looking like a clown. Here’s the Robin Erb guide to staying cute with color:

  • When looking for a bright colored eyeshadow, go for Loreal’s HiP Studio Secrets Proffesional Shocking Shadow Pigments. These shadows create beautiful, rich color with loose powder and come in 12 eye-popping shades. The bright colors look wonderful and stay on forever. White and gold tones can be used as highlighters to go under eyebrows and on top of cheek bones to really make bright eyeshadows pop!
  • Use peaches, pinks, and coral blushes on your cheeks as well as your eyes along with sheer colored lip gloss for a polished but playful spring look.
  • Wearing black eyeliner (not too much) on the inside of your eyes with dark mascara will let you get away with any bright color.
  • When you’ve already got a bright eyeshadow on, just do sheer gloss with a little tint of pink or peach on your lips. Or you could go for a matte lipstick in nude, peach or pink. I love Revlon’s Matte Lipsticks in Pink Pout and Nude Attitude.

Try some of these tips out and tell me what you think! Better yet, let me know how you wear these fun, spring colors.

Look At Me Lashes – How to Choose the Best Mascara

As many of you already know, I’m all about lash extensions. They are individual tube extensions that create beautiful, long, voluptuous lashes for 4 weeks. However, not everyone has the time to spend maintaining this look. So, for all of you out there with natural lashes, here is how to get that soft, glamorous lash look without extensions.

When it comes to mascara, the formula doesn’t really matter – it’s all about the wand. It’s what shapes your eyelashes and really makes the look. People seem to think that really fat, big brushes work best for lashes, but the opposite is true – they don’t work at all. When it comes to mascara wands, find brushes that are sparser and the more comb-like the brush is, the more evenly your mascara will coat with less clumping.

Of all of the mascaras on the market today, these are the ones I have tried and approve:

Overall, I have just found that L’oreal’s mascaras are the best, so first is L’oreal’s Telescopic Mascara which comes in both Original and Carbon Black. It makes lashes ultra-long with an odd tip at the end of the mascara wand. I especially recommend the Carbon Black because its brush is smaller, but if you get the Original, go with the Blackest Black color. If you want really long and really voluminous lashes, layer Telescopic over L’Oreal’s Voluminous.

I’ve also been trying out L’Oreal’s Telescopic Explosion and that works great too. It has a ball on the tip of the wand that helps make your lashes extra long.

Maybeline’s Lash Stylist has been discontinued, but it is still available online. The comb brush is perfect for creating long lashes without clumping. I recommend buying a tube online, and once you run out, clean off the wand and reuse it in another tube of your favorite mascara. That way you can use the formula you like with the wand that works.

If you want something a bit edgier than your drug store’s selection, Bourjois’ Volume Clubbing Mascara is great for creating those sexy, voluminous lashes you’ve always wanted with a hip look. It’s a bigger sized brush for that added volume with fewer bristles. I haven’t been able to find this product in stores, but it is available online.

Before you go out and buy yourself some new mascara based on my recommendations, here are some of my tips to making sure you get the best lashes possible:

  • No matter what your hair color is, always go with the blackest black mascara you can find! It will accentuate your eyes the most. Don’t buy brown mascara.
  • Don’t bother with lash curlers; they can pull out your lashes. Instead, what I recommend is placing your finger underneath your eyelashes right after mascara application for a few seconds while lifting up to create a nice curl.
  • Layer your mascara while it’s still wet. That way there is no clumping and you get those perfect lashes you’ve always been looking for.
  • Those new vibrating mascaras on the market are just gimmicks. Don’t bother to spend your time or money on them.

I hope my mascara recommendations, tips and tricks were helpful. Any rave reviews on the mascara you’re using right now?
